Geology Technician
We are offering a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Geology Technician to work in our underground mining operation in the Goldfields. The role is residential with a family‐friendly 8/6 roster of 11‐hour days.
The successful candidate will assist in the collection and processing of geological samples to ensure the provision of timely and accurate data for subsequent analysis by Geologists.
Responsibilities
* Meter marking, photographing, cutting, and sample collection of diamond core in a timely manner and in line with core processing priorities.
* Include appropriate QAQC samples in all submissions.
* Submit samples promptly with no errors.
* Transport samples to the off‐site laboratory.
* Store and accurately catalogue diamond core in the core farm in line with procedure.
* Assist in maintaining pulp and core library catalogues across the site.
Qualifications
* Current "C" Class Western Australian Driver's Licence.
* Current approved and recognised forklift ticket (Desired).
* Senior First Aid Certificate (Desired).
* 4WD operation and recovery skills (Desired).
Experience
* Computer literacy with ability to use Microsoft Office products.
* Excellent numeracy skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to plan daily activities and meet deadlines.
* Ability to work unsupervised as required and as part of a team.
* Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
