About The Role
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective and appropriate patient care in a patient-focused environment. Suitable applicants will have the opportunity to develop skills in surgical nursing with the support of an Educator. Surgical Ward 4B is a 30-bed ward caring for adult patients from surgical specialties.
Specialties include, but are not limited to: General surgery, Colorectal, Stomal Therapy, Gastro, Plastics, Skin lesions including melanoma, oncology-based surgery including mastectomy and breast reconstruction (DIEP), and cardiothoracic. Skills development is available for patients requiring 1:1 acute post-operative care.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan appropriate care following assessment in consultation with the patient
- Implement planned care as delegated
- Document nursing care in patient records
- Support and inform patients and their families to enable informed decisions
- Maintain an effective personal and professional development plan
What You Bring
- AHPRA Registration
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in an acute surgical care setting
- Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated commitment to personal and professional development
Qualifications & Perks

Salary
- Remuneration: $36.39 to $51.09 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options
- Salary Classification: Registered Nurse Year 1 - 8
