About the Role
The Sustainable Landscapes Officer is responsible for soil sampling and gathering pre-sampling information in accordance with national soil monitoring sampling procedures. This role provides high-level advice on testing and monitoring of soils, and interpreting soil test data to support best practice land management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Conducting soil sampling and gathering pre-sampling information
* Providing high-level advice on testing and monitoring of soils
* Interpreting soil test data
* Collaborating with farming system groups, industry groups, and land managers
Working Arrangements
* Position based at Mount Gambier or Naracoorte
* Current minimum class C driver's licence and willingness/ability to safely operate a 4WD required
* Appointment subject to satisfactory criminal history check
* Opportunity to participate in fire management or associated duties
* Sometimes out-of-hours work and intrastate travel involving overnight absences from home may be required
* Required to work alone in a field environment, including working in adverse weather conditions from time to time
