Our client is a well-established and growing resources company with a strong operational footprint and an expanding project portfolio. To support continued growth and drive commercial performance across operations and capital projects, they are seeking an experienced Procurement & Contracts Manager to lead their procurement function.
This is an initial 6-month contract role with a strong possibility of transitioning to a permanent position.
The Opportunity
Reporting to senior leadership, the Procurement & Contracts Manager will oversee all procurement and contract management activities across site operations and projects. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring commercial value, operational efficiency, and effective risk management.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement and contracts team
* Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with operational and project requirements
* Oversee end-to-end sourcing activities including tendering, negotiation, evaluation, and contract award
* Manage and administer major contracts to ensure performance, compliance, and value delivery
* Support capital projects through structured procurement planning and execution
* Drive process improvement initiatives to streamline procurement systems and workflows
* Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships and manage supplier performance
* Identify cost‐saving opportunities while maintaining safety, quality, and operational standards
* Ensure governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks are adhered to
About You
* Extensive procurement and contract management experience within mining, resources, construction, or heavy industry
* Proven leadership experience managing and developing high‐performing teams
* Strong background supporting large‐scale operational and capital project environments
* Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex commercial agreements
* Track record of improving procurement processes and driving efficiencies
* Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management capability
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Business, Commerce, Engineering, or similar (preferred)
