Complete Staff Solutions are seeking a qualified Environmental Health Officer to deliver high quality environmental health services, focusing on food premises inspections, compliance, and public health protection.
This role will suit someone with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex regulatory responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Inspect and review food premises, beauty/hairdressing and skin penetration businesses for compliance.
* Provide specialist advice on environmental health matters to management, businesses, and the community.
* Investigate and respond to environmental complaints (air, water, land, or noise).
* Assess development applications for compliance with public and environmental health standards.
* Prepare professional reports, records, and public information material.
* Follow up and enforce non-compliance matters under relevant legislation.
* Contribute to policy development, customer service, and continuous improvement.
Essential:
* Degree in Health and Environment, Food Technology, or related field.
* Demonstrated experience in specialist environmental health services (preferably local government or regulatory context).
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation: Public Health Act 1991, NSW Food Act 2010, Food Standards Code, and Local Government Act.
* High-level report writing, analytical, and communication skills.
* Class C driver's licence with safe driving record.
* Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Ability to work independently and handle diverse stakeholders professionally.
* Knowledge of WHS, risk management, and EEO principles.
Desirable:
* Previous supervisory or council experience.
* Accreditation to be appointed as a Food Act Auditor (or eligibility to obtain).
