Suffolk Rehabilitation and Recovery service (SRRS) are looking to recruit a full time band 6 Occupational Therapist.
Working with the band 5 Occupational Therapist, you will provide assessment and interventions either 1-1 or group based and also help to link service users into local community resources.
The wider team is made up of a Clinical Psychologist, Consultant Psychiatrist, Doctors, Nurses and Rehabilitation workers. SRRS is a 10 bedded, mixed gender ward in Ipswich.
This is an exciting time for the recovery pathway, as it is expanded to include a new community rehab team that will work in collaboration with the inpatient team. Occupational therapy is central in the rehabilitation approach so you will benefit from having links with the OTs within the community team.
Main duties of the job
As Occupational Therapist you will be responsible for:
Assessment of Activities of Daily Living
Leading implementation of VdT Model Of Creative Ability (training is available)
Occupational Formulation
Planning and carrying out interventions
Contributing to care planning and risk assessment
Oversee the process and implementation of service user meal preparation
Group facilitation
Promoting recovery approach within the wider MDT
Support discharge planning, working with community teams
Provide outreach visits where indicated as part of the discharge process
Helping to oversee the ward timetable and also taking a lead in creating individual weekly planners based on level of functioning and goals.
Attending reviews and professionals meetings
Establishing and maintaining links with community services
Supervision of band 5 OT

Qualifications
* Diploma / Degree in OT
* Clinical supervisor qualification or willing to work towards.
Experience
* Post registration experience in mental health.
* Documentary evidence of continuing professional development
* Experience of MDT working
* Supervising students / staff
Knowledge
* Knowledge of mental health and best practice in OT
* Reflective practice
