Data Protection Incident Specialist

At our organization, we are dedicated to fostering creativity and delivering exceptional user experiences. As a Data Protection Incident Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in helping us achieve this vision by overseeing incidents that impact the safety and security of our platform.


About the Role

This position is responsible for managing critical incidents escalated from business units to investigate, coordinate cross-functional triage and mitigation activities, remediation coordination and tracking, reporting, and communication, and escalate to the Enterprise Incident Response Lead if the incident reaches a crisis threshold.


Key Responsibilities

* Ensure incident response processes are executed to support incident remediation activities, communications, and connection to crisis management if necessary
* Communicate complex technical concepts and protocols in a clear and concise manner to non-technical audiences
* Support tracking/maintenance/advancement/executiton of incident response projects
* Participate in incident response activities and escalation to crisis as needed
* Stay up-to-date with incident response plans and procedures, including identification, remediation, containment, and eradication procedures
* Know Crisis Management Plans and procedures, thresholds, and execute activation procedures
* Synthesize technical details of critical incidents to executive management and provide immediate containment and eradication recommendations


Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* Bachelors' Degree or industry equivalent work experience in CyberSecurity, emergency management, or crisis management with a focus on security analytics and incident response
* 3+ years experience in incident management operations, crisis management planning, and/or exercises
* Experience with identifying and responding to threats and threat actors
* Excellent communication (verbal and written) & collaboration skills, and ability to influence without authority
* Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, in particular in leading or contributing to global and multi-functional teams
* Demonstrated time management, problem-solving, effort prioritization, and interpersonal skills


Preferred Qualifications

We also welcome applicants with:

* Experience in emergency operations, planning, and/or exercises, including program design and implementation
* Strong project management skills and thought leadership
* Coordinating high-profile, complex incident situations
* Background in social media, entertainment, startup, and/or tech industries
