This position is funded 60% through the Technical Support to Schools Program (TSSP) and 40% through Bundoora Secondary College. Duties are delivered as a single integrated role, with work priorities aligned to service demand and College improvement needs.
Role purpose
The IT Manager is responsible for the reliable operation, support and continuous improvement of the College’s ICT environment for staff and students. The role provides TSSP-aligned day-to-day ICT service delivery to maintain core business continuity (approximately 60%) and delivers College-funded ICT improvement priorities (approximately 40%) focused on workflow enhancement, automation, and development/support of internal tools and platforms that strengthen administration and operations.
Key responsibilities
A. ICT operations and service delivery (TSSP-aligned)
* Provide day‑to‑day ICT technical support to staff and students consistent with the TSSP service model
* Maintain availability and performance of the College network, systems and digital services; respond to incidents and coordinate resolution
* Configure, image, deploy and troubleshoot devices; coordinate with DET ICT services and external providers as required
* Manage staff DET device provision and lifecycle processes (allocation, setup, troubleshooting, records)
* Coordinate student BYOD support and repairs, including relevant service-provider processes (e.g. LWT coordination)
* Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and ICT asset registers; support ICT-related compliance and audit readiness
B. ICT improvement, workflow enhancement and internal platforms
* Analyse and improve workflows across administration and operations, particularly where processes rely on ad hoc programs, spreadsheets and visibility
1. Select, implement and/or build fit-for-purpose tools (e.g., forms, automations, database solutions, integrations) that improve efficiency, accuracy and visibility
2. Apply AI responsibly to assist solution design, documentation, and automation, ensuring appropriate handling of data and alignment with DET/College expectations
3. Support and further develop College-built platforms that improve knowledge
