About the Opportunity
We have multiple positions available for Community Relations Consultants who will work directly with flood affected homeowners across seven Local Government Areas.
This role requires face-to-face interactions with homeowners and on-site management of issues and stakeholders, we are seeking people based in the Northern Rivers region or those who are willing to travel or relocate for the role.
You will be a key resource for people recovering from major flood events, assisting eligible flood impacted homeowners through the process of accessing buy backs or resilience grants as part of the NSW Governments Resilient Homes Program.
You will deliver personalised case management to homeowners and work with them to find solutions, navigate complexities and streamline information and processes. You will bring compassion, empathy and understanding to all interactions with flood affected communities and homeowners.
People with community relations, communication and engagement or case management backgrounds and experience are encouraged to apply.
The Day-to-Day Role:
* Support complex engagement processes and lead conversations and interactions with eligible homeowners
* Deliver face to face engagement with property owners, community members, and industry groups
* Identify and report issues and concerns and maintain a database of homeowner information and interactions via Consultation Manager
* Work with a team of field staff to streamline interactions with homeowners and ensure that complex technical information is understood by homeowners
* Prepare information and materials to support the roll out of information
* Attend community events and information sessions to share information about the project and interact in the local communities
* Foster a culture of collaboration and mutual respect
* Role model and coach others in techniques for active listening, understanding others viewpoints and displaying empathy

You are an empathetic and compassionate individual, dedicated to helping people who have experienced a traumatic event.
You can translate complex information to a target audience and build trust and rapport with the people you work with.
