Overview
Our client, a quick-growing SaaS company in the healthcare space, is looking for a Software Development Manager to lead and grow their Ruby on Rails engineering team.
What you’ll do
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Rails developers (while staying hands-on).
- Drive architecture decisions and ensure best practices in Rails development.
- Oversee Agile processes from planning to delivery.
- Collaborate with leadership to turn ideas into production-ready software.
- Ensure systems remain scalable, secure, and performant.
Responsibilities

Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Ruby on Rails with proven product delivery experience.
- Previous experience as a Tech Lead / Lead Engineer / Engineering Manager.
- Solid knowledge of Agile, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).
- Great communication and leadership skills.
- Play a key role in scaling a high-impact healthcare platform.
- Lead a close-knit team with direct impact on the product.

- Competitive salary (AUD $140K–170K + superannuation).
