Branching out is looking to employ a fulltime employee under the occupation of experienced and qualified Arborist. We are offering a yearly salary of $73,150 per annum plus 11.5 percent superannuation.
The successful applicant will play a key part in maintaining smooth daily operations, fostering a positive and professional work environment, and ensuring the highest standards of arboricultural practice. As well as oversee the assessment, management and maintenance of trees in Urban and Suburban environments while leading a team of arborists and ground crew.
Technical Arboricultural Responsibilities include:
- Tree Assessment and Risk Management – Conducting detailed inspections to evaluate tree health, structural stability, and potential hazards. Providing risk assessments to determine the necessity for pruning, removal, or other maintenance strategies to ensure public safety and tree longevity.
- Tree Management and Preservation – Advising on species selection, site planning, and long-term tree management strategies. Implementing best practices for tree preservation, including root protection and soil management.
- Collaboration with Allied Professionals – Working with Urban and Regional Planners, Landscape Architects, and Environmental Consultants to provide strategic urban forest planning, protection, and preservation.
- Tree Pruning and Maintenance – Overseeing and carrying out appropriate pruning techniques to improve tree health and structural integrity while ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Tree Removal and Stump Management – Assessing when removal is necessary due to disease, safety concerns, or development needs. Coordinating the safe and environmentally responsible removal of trees and stumps.
- Pest and Disease Management – Diagnosing and recommending treatment plans for common tree pests and diseases, advising on integrated pest management solutions.
- Consultation and Client Communication – Providing expert advice to homeowners, commercial developers, and local councils regarding tree care, legal requirements, and risk management. Preparing reports and documentation for tree assessments and planning applications.
Leadership & Team Management Responsibilities include:
- Supervising and Leading the Team – Managing a crew of arborists and ground staff, assigning tasks, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high professional standard.
- Training and Mentorship – Providing ongoing training to team members in arboricultural techniques, equipment use, and workplace safety standards.
- Health & Safety Compliance – Enforcing safe work practices, ensuring all team members adhere to industry safety standards, and conducting risk assessments before and during operations.
- Operational Planning and Efficiency – Coordinating daily work schedules, overseeing job site logistics, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Equipment and Resource Management – Ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and used safely. Managing inventory and ordering necessary tools and supplies.
- Communication and Coordination – Acting as the main point of contact between the team, clients, and management. Providing clear instructions, resolving issues on-site, and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
