(Brisbane) About This Opportunity The School of Social Science at The University of Queensland is seeking a teaching-focused Associate Lecturer in Anthropology to teach ANTH2250 Medical Anthropology in Semester 1, 2026. In this role, you will deliver high-quality teaching within the Anthropology program and actively engage in the collegial life of the School as a UQ citizen. This appointment is well suited to an academic with an emerging teaching profile and a commitment to innovative, student-centred learning. Due to the short-term, teaching-intensive nature of this Brisbane-based role, applicants will be required to work on campus at the St Lucia campus for the duration of the appointment. Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to: Teaching: Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules. Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values. Other : Comply with University policies and legislative requirements, including the Code of Conduct, WHS obligations, sustainability practices, ESOS requirements, and UQ strategic frameworks. About You Completion or near completion of a PhD in Anthropology. Demonstrated disciplinary knowledge in a relevant field of Anthropology Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at undergraduate and postgraduate levels using active and flexible learning approaches, including online delivery. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in teaching teams. Capability to use online learning systems and platforms (e.g. Blackboard, electronic course profiles).
