The Team: The Mersey Community Hospital, Latrobe has 95 beds and offers general and specialist health services including 24-hour emergency department, general medicine, day surgery and endoscopy, rehabilitation, palliative care and day oncology services along with a variety of specialist clinics. Mersey Community Hospital is a dedicated elective surgery centre and provides a mixture of general hospital services. The hospital has close ties with the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School and with TAFE Tasmania thus providing opportunities for comprehensive clinical training programs. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community. Specialties provided include Dental Surgery, Gynaecology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, and Endoscopy. Experience is not mandatory but highly desirable. The Role: As a member of the health care team, the CSD Technician: Decontaminates, packages, sterilises and distributes reusable medical devices (RMDs) for the Operating Theatre and other specialist and general areas. Maintains a clean and hygienic environment to facilitate the control of infection in the Central Sterilising Department (CSD). The Team: Be part of a dynamic, fast paced, and supportive team Support can be provided for the study for completion of Certificate III in Sterilising Services for the successful applicant Provide an efficient sterilisation and decontamination services to the Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) Details of appointment: Permanent, part-time day worker position working 40 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed date. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. *Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies across the Northwest. Salary: $67,193 - $72,126 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
