Veterinary Clinical Pathology Technician Position
The Melbourne Veterinary School is seeking a Veterinary Clinical Pathology Technician to join our diagnostic laboratory team. The successful applicant will be responsible for processing blood and body fluid samples, operating and maintaining haematology and biochemistry analysers, and providing technical assistance for teaching and research.
Responsibilities
* Processing blood and body fluid samples from a wide variety of animal species for haematological, cytological and biochemical analysis
* Operating and maintaining haematology and biochemistry analysers and other equipment
* Receiving and processing veterinary diagnostic samples
* Providing technical assistance for teaching and research in the Faculty of Science
Requirements
* A Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent tertiary level training relevant to the diagnostic veterinary pathology field
* At least 2 years of subsequent relevant experience or extensive experience with an associate diploma and at least 4 years of work experience
* Proficiency in haematological procedures and safe use of hazardous substances and biological materials
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Laboratory Information Management Systems
