King of the Hills (KOTH) is the flagship operation of Vault Minerals Limited and one of the largest gold mines in Australia. After significant expansion, KOTH now features a 5.2 million tonne per annum (Mtpa) processing plant, providing a solid platform for long-term production growth. This dynamic operation combines open-pit and underground mining, with exciting exploration activities driving the future. KOTH is located approximately 900 km northeast of Perth and 25 km north of Leonora, within the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.
Reporting to Processing Shift Supervisor, the Process Operator will be responsible for controlling and operating an assigned section of the processing plant in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
Process operators will ensure that the operational area remains clean and safe. This involves prioritising tasks to minimise interruptions to the process, utilising risk management strategies, and achieving the production targets and KPIs for Vault Minerals (VAU).
This position will be offered on a 15:13 Roster FIFO roster from Perth.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
Maintain optimum output for the processing plant by monitoring and adjusting operating variables and equipment during each shift as required, and in line with standard operating procedures.
Operate in the assigned section of the process plant, maybe any of crushing, grinding, leaching, control room, gold room or tailings, ensuring that no breaches of company procedures, legislation or environmental regulations occur.
Relevant to area of operation, conduct checks every shift to ensure reagent stock tank levels and other consumables are maintained at all times.
Ensure pre-starts are conducted at the beginning of each shift and report all electrical & mechanical faults and breakdowns to the Maintenance team in a timely manner.
Ensure all shift log sheets, checklists, shift diaries and safety and environmental meetings are recorded accurately and comprehensively. This will include detailed entry/exit of the gold room, safe and smelt logbooks, TSF inspection sheets
Obtain competency signoffs, to learn and confidently operate all relevant sections of the plant.
As required, provide coverage for the Shift Supervisor and /or 2IC during periods of absence to oversee/direct team and plant outputs.
About You
Previous experience operating loaders, skid steers, and excavators, and hold all necessary nationally recognized certifications.
Hold a valid WA Driver's License (Manual C Class)
Possess a High-risk work license for Forklift, Confined Space and Work at Heights qualification
Working knowledge of the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations
Excellent communication and time management skills.
