We are seeking an ongoing Customer Accounts & Billing Officer to join our Customer Services division.

The Opportunity
As the Customer Accounts & Billing Officer you will be responsible for accurate and timely processing of daily meters-to-cash tasks including meter read and maintenance, billing, account management and property, conveyancing, standpipes and connections.
What you'll do:
* Efficiently processes tasks across meter reading, account management and property, meter maintenance, billing, standpipes, remittance, conveyancing, and bulk billing autonomously.
* Proficiently uses the billing system to maintain the integrity of customer billing information and processes.
* Identifies, investigates, and resolves issues impacting the meters-to cash process.
* Focuses on continuous improvement, analysing and recommending process enhancements.
* Ensures all functions comply with controlled documents, policies, and procedures.
* Maintains knowledge of regulatory requirements and ensures compliance in all activities.
* Promotes high-quality customer service through timely responses to enquiries and complaints.
What you'll need to be successful:
Essential Criteria:
* Demonstrated experience and proficiency in using billing, customer information and similar systems.
* Self-motivated with the ability to identify issues and provide efficient, meaningful solutions.
* Proven experience in delivering strong customer service.
* Collaborative team player committed to achieving team performance goals.
* Skilled at working efficiently to deadlines and managing changing priorities.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer relations.
* Demonstrated intermediate use of Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Strong computer literacy with a keen aptitude for learning new systems and technologies.
* Current drivers licence.
Desirable Criteria:
* Certificate III in Business Administration
* Strong knowledge and application of Hunter Water's account and billing policies, processes and pricing and regulatory structure.
* Experience working within a government and/or utility agency.
