Project Engineer - NSW GovernmentPay Rate:$1,000 - $1,100 per day + SuperLocation: Dubbo-based with travel across regional NSWAnticipated Duration: Until 30th June 2026 (possible extensions)*Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week We are seeking three Project Engineers* to support a major NSW Government road maintenance and minor works program across regional Local Government Areas. These roles sit within a growing project delivery environment, supporting increased workload, backfill needs, and internal staff movements.

Two positions focus on road maintenance and minor works delivery across large precincts. One position provides general project engineering support with flexibility in background and remit.

All roles offer the opportunity to contribute to meaningful regional infrastructure outcomes while working within experienced, supportive project teams.

About the Roles:

Depending on the position, your responsibilities will include:

Project Delivery – Road Maintenance & Minor Works (Two Roles)

* Develop and deliver road maintenance and minor works projects within a regional project services team.
* Manage investigation and design activities through delivery readiness.
* Oversee contractor engagement and administration, generally under Road Maintenance Council Contract (RMCC) frameworks.
* Implement robust cost management processes, including forecasting and accruals.
* Ensure safety, environmental and quality standards are upheld across works.
* Collaborate closely with internal engineers, contract managers, surveillance officers, and local councils.
* Support surveillance activities and risk management through effective coordination and communication.
* Travel across multiple LGAs, including occasional overnight stays.

General Project Engineer Role (One Position)

* Support a range of infrastructure project activities as part of a collaborative regional team.
* Apply strong problem-solving skills to achieve quality outcomes in changing environments.
* Balance process, delivery, and stakeholder needs across varying project phases.
* Contribute to planning, reporting, and coordination activities across the program.
* Work flexibly and adapt to new assignments as operational priorities shift.

Key Skills & Experience Mandatory (all roles):

* Engineering degree (Civil preferred; environmental or similar considered for the generalist role).
* Class C driver's licence.
* White Card.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to work autonomously across a large geographic precinct.
* High motivation, accountability, and collaborative work style.

Preferred:

* Experience delivering road maintenance, minor civil works or infrastructure projects.
* Contract management experience (RMCC experience highly valued for the two road maintenance-focused roles).
* Scheduling, cost control, and financial management capability.
* Familiarity working with local government stakeholders or regional councils.
