The key duties of the position include The Role As the APS 5 Aviation Technical Mastery Coordinator, you will work within Navy Aviation's operational Squadrons alongside uniformed Defence members. You will be responsible for a range of support and administrative duties, including the development of discrete training packages, communications and presentations, governance and oversight of Unit Training, record keeping and general administrative tasks. Key responsibilities include: Supporting the FAA Technical Mastery Program through coordination and administration of Navy aviation technical sailors. Coordinating course nominations for technical personnel. Managing pre-requisite qualifications for technical personnel. Monitoring and reporting on competency journal progression for personnel under training. Become a Defence Qualified Assessor and maintaining the authorised DQA list. Monitoring and reporting on Mandatory Annual Awareness Training for aviation sailors. Developing training day packages as requested by the FAA Squadrons. Assisting in developing and improving processes and procedures. Additional business duties such as group inbox management, data entry and report generation. About our Team The APS 5 Aviation Technical Mastery Coordinator is a newly established role and an exciting opportunity to join the Fleet Air Arm (FAA) Training Cell (FTC). The FTC delivers subject matter expertise, guidance, and support to the FAA Aircraft Maintenance Organisation. The FTC is part of the FAA Aviation Engineering Department and located within the MH-60R Seahawk Maintenance Facility at HMAS Albatross. The APS 5 Aviation Technical Mastery Coordinator works directly for the SO3 Aviation Engineering Support Systems Engineer and provides consistency within the FTC. FTC staff strive to be subject matter experts, delivering professionalised training and supporting FAA readiness. To enable this, the FTC functions include training development and coordination, governance and oversight, communications and presentations.
