Job Title: Medical Care Specialist
This position requires a highly skilled and experienced Medical Care Specialist to provide general medical services to patients in correctional environments.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, and enhancing existing services to meet organisational needs and best practice.
Responsibilities
* Provide general medical services to patients in correctional environments, including assessing, diagnosing, and treating a range of medical conditions.
* Work collaboratively with the Nursing Unit Manager (NUM), Service Director Primary Care, and Clinical Director Primary Care to ensure seamless delivery of healthcare services.
* Develop and implement strategies to enhance existing services, improving patient outcomes and contributing to the growth and development of the organisation.
Requirements
* A current medical registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practice (FRACGP) or Australasian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM).
* Proof of recognition as a specialist by the Specialists Recognition Advisory Committee Award.
* Demonstrated significant experience in General Practice, with knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches in assessment and management of acute and chronic medical conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
* Previous experience in emergency medicine, general practice, adult internal medicine, or rural medicine.
