At Knobby, we're not just an underwear brand; we're a creative, design-led business driven by bold ideas, collaboration, and community. From standout licensed graphics to thoughtfully developed products, we bring energy and originality to everything we create. We're now looking for a talented
Product Designer
to join our team and play a key role in delivering commercially successful, creatively inspiring collections.
About the Role:
This hybrid role combines creative textile graphic design with end-to-end product development responsibility. The Designer will translate trend insights and brand direction into commercially viable products across apparel, accessories, packaging, and gifts. Working closely with artists, suppliers, and the product team, this role ensures that every collection is creatively inspiring, technically sound, and delivered to deadline.
What You'll Be Doing:
→ Creative & Design
* Lead seasonal and monthly trend forecasting, colour direction, and graphic development for apparel and accessories collections.
* Liaise with artists and collaborators on selection, briefing, feedback, and artwork delivery.
* Manage and process artist artworks to print-ready final files across all product categories (BB, Nats, Socks, Accessories, Gifts).
* Develop repeat patterns, placement prints, and templates while ensuring consistency across collections.
* Conduct Pantone selections, scaling, and artwork simplification for production readiness.
* Support packaging design, trims, and gift artwork creation in collaboration with the broader design team.
* Ensure all artwork adheres to licensing standards and brand requirements.
→ Product Development
* Manage new block and fit development, working collaboratively with the Product Manager and technical teams.
* Lead new fabric research, testing, and development aligned with collection goals and quality expectations.
* Own end-to-end product development of four monthly collections per month (48 per year), ensuring alignment with creative and commercial targets.
* Create and maintain technical packs, ensuring accuracy for all product details, artworks, and specifications.
* Update and track all collection critical paths, ensuring milestones and deadlines are consistently met.
* Partner with the Designer and Product Development team on approvals, fit sessions, lab dips, and production updates.
* Research, source, and develop new club gifts and promotional items.
* Source and develop accessories ranges for both retail and online channels, ensuring cohesive alignment to apparel stories.
→ Collaboration & Workflow
* Liaise with internal stakeholders including Creative, PD, Supply Chain, and Marketing.
* Maintain open communication with Mel/Crushi as backup leads for key stages of development.
* Ensure efficient workflow management across multiple projects, balancing creative innovation with delivery precision.
What We're Looking For:
* 5-7+ years' experience in textile design and/or product development within apparel or fashion-related industries.
* Strong understanding of materials, construction, and garment fit.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and technical design documentation.
* Use of AI to streamline technical documentation and processes, such as tech packs.
* Proven ability to manage critical paths and overlapping timelines across multiple ranges.
* Excellent eye for graphic detail, colour, and trend.
* Strong communication and organisational skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
What You'll Bring:
* A creative mindset that thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
* Balanced focus on design integrity, technical accuracy, and commercial outcomes.
* A collaborative approach that supports cross-functional success across creative, production, and operations teams.
