About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to join our expanding Child and Youth team. This role involves providing individualised, strength-based support to young people living with disability, mental health challenges, trauma histories, and other complex needs.
You'll work closely with participants, families, and external professionals to promote safety, independence, community participation, and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide direct 1:1 or group-based support to young people in home and community settings
* Build trusting relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
* Implement trauma-informed strategies to manage challenging behaviours
* Support with goal achievement under NDIS plans
* Promote emotional regulation, life skills, and social engagement
* Collaborate with other professionals including social workers, therapists, and families
* Maintain accurate progress notes and incident reporting in line with NDIS guidelines
About You
We're looking for someone who's:
* Passionate about supporting young people and understanding their unique stories
* Resilient, emotionally intelligent, and calm under pressure
* Knowledgeable about trauma, disability, and behavioural challenges
* Reliable, compassionate, and able to work independently and as part of a team
* Minimum Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services, or equivalent
* OR a social work, psychology, or relevant allied health qualification (Social Workers are strongly encouraged to apply)
* Experience working with children and young people with trauma and complex needs
* Understanding of trauma-informed and person-centred practice
* Current Working With Children Check
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Current First Aid & CPR
* Full SA Driver's Licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle
