You are ahighly seasoned Technology Leader who will lead our technological evolution within the Deposits & Transactions Crew. As the Crew Tech Lead (CTL), you'll define technical roadmaps, ensuring alignment to tech strategy, reference architecture, enterprise data standards, application simplification and modernization agendas. You love to drive brilliant customer outcomes whilst also balancing excellence in engineering standards. You have deep domain interest or experience across deposits, account lifecycles and transaction processing and a strong grounding in Core Banking and Everyday Business Banking.
You'll lead a large multi-disciplinary engineering organisation, own vendor commercial outcomes, and partner with Product, Data, Security and Core Banking to deliver resilient services at scale.
You'll translate business strategy into technical strategy, helping business leaders understand technology concerns by working at the forefront of all technology decisions and ensure performance and availability of technology. You'll be the expert in the crew's tech landscape with a clear vision on trends and capabilities to create competitive advantage; ensure IT risks, technical debt and the associated impacts are understood and actively managed.

* Lead the technology strategy and delivery for the Deposits & Transactions Crew, with ownership for the crew's systems, services and technical roadmap.
* Define and deliver the crew's AI strategy — champion responsible adoption of AI across the Deposits & Transactions landscape.
* Ensure alignment between the crew's technical roadmap and CBA's enterprise reference architecture, data strategy and security/compliance requirements.
* Own operational performance and availability for the crew's assets (SLAs, observability, capacity, runbook maturity and incident response).
* Lead supplier selection, vendor/partner engagements and contracts for strategic supplier-managed products/services — ensuring commercial delivery and risk management.
* Work closely with Product, Architecture, Security, Data, Risk, and Business stakeholders to prioritise work, manage dependencies, and deliver value.
* Leading a large engineering organisation, building and growing engineering capability and chapters across the crew — hire, retain and develop top engineering talent.
* Drive continuous improvement of engineering practices (AI, DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, SRE practices) and reduce technical debt.
Skills
* We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;
* Experience leading large engineering including virtual, teams in a scaled agile environment
* Experience working with senior executives and stakeholders
* Experience in leading a DevSecOps culture and operating model; Background in Full-cycle Engineering
* Experience leading Engineering teams who work with the following technologies - .Net, Next.js, React,AWS,API's (REST &GraphQL)
* Highly developed Leadership, people and communications skills; sound financial control and reporting skills
* Grounded understanding in AWS or Azure Cloud architecture and integration, demonstrating experience in deploying, optimizing and managing cloud-based solutions
