For more than 35 years our client has been a leading Australian manufacturer of value-added, high-quality fresh and frozen food into the retail grocery and hospitality/foodservice sectors, with both branded and retailer brand products. Privately owned, the business has recently invested in state-of-the-art innovation and manufacturing facilities in Melbourne's northern suburbs and, driven by exemplary relationships with major customers, is achieving significant growth.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a hands-on FMCG food marketing or category management professional prospect to join the business in this newly created role, totally focused on driving growth through the management of the Company's co-manufacture of a major customers extensive Retailer brand portfolio as well as other development opportunities on behalf of other customers.
The position will suit an experienced product portfolio manager who will bring to the role experience in bringing new products to market, identifying innovation opportunities, packaging development, and project co-ordination with internal and external teams. Experience with retailer brand management and development will be highly regarded.
You will work with internal resources and multiple contact points within the customer to manage the existing portfolio, identify new product and packaging opportunities, prepare clearly defined development briefs, and co-ordinate with cross functional teams to ensure projects are delivered in full and on time and in accordance with business objectives.
Above all, your background will be supported by outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills and a strong desire to achieve results. Along with a sound understanding of the commercialization processes of NPD in a food manufacturer environment you will possess sound commercial acumen, high attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with your colleagues in NPD, Operations, Marketing, Sales, and Administration. Experience in Account or Category management roles would also be beneficial.
Tertiary qualifications within a business-related discipline are a must.
