Hope Ventures is the community arm of Hope Centre, a church with 5 locations across South-East Queensland. Hope Ventures has existed for over 20 years beginning as Brisbane CityCare, before changing to Hope Centre Services and now existing as Hope Ventures. Hope Ventures works with vulnerable individuals, families and communities across South East Queensland and has three main programs – Circuit Breaker, Mimi’s House and Community Connect.
About Mimi's House
Mimi’s House is a nurture-based program of Hope Ventures, designed for children who have experienced trauma, grief or stress that may be causing them to disengage from their learning. We build strength and resilience into the lives of children experiencing disadvantage by teaching life skills and helping them engage in healthy and positive relationships with themselves, each other, their families and their communities.

About The Role
The Program Assistant works with the Program Coordinator to deliver the day-to-day program of Mimi’s House, using a trauma-informed approach to build the self-worth and resilience of children. General tasks may include:
* Daily preparation tasks, including setting up equipment and preparing food, continuous cleaning of the house/equipment as required
* Transporting children to and from school
* Leading day activities as negotiated with the Program Coordinator
* Building rapport and trust with children through targeted activities
* Assist with the ordering of equipment/groceries
This position is for one day per week (8.5 hours / day).
About You
•You have experience working with children, especially those who have experienced trauma or are at risk of disengaging from learning.
•You may hold a Certificate in education, social work, child care, or a related area—or have equivalent experience.
•You’re hands-on, dependable, and able to jump in wherever needed—whether that’s preparing meals, setting up for the day, or transporting children.
•You’re compassionate, flexible, and build trust easily with kids and teammates.
•You work well under pressure and keep things running smoothly throughout the day.
•You communicate clearly and are confident working within a small team.
•You have a current Queensland Driver’s License and Blue Card (or are willing to obtain them).
•You’re passionate about seeing children thrive and excited to be part of the Mimi’s House family.
•You bring a Christian, faith-based approach to your work and relationships.
