The School
At Karratha Senior High School (SHS) we empower every student to embrace opportunities, build resilience and contribute positively to society. A state‐of‐the‐art Technologies building provides facilities for students to learn valuable skills for trades careers. The Health and Physical Education (HPE) department is located in the Karratha Leisureplex with a co‐location arrangement with the City of Karratha.

The successful applicant will deliver an engaging and meaningful secondary school science curriculum, demonstrating strong professional knowledge, effective teaching practices and relevant experience. Teaching practices must align with the whole‐school instructional model, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all learning areas. The candidate will create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment, offering meaningful learning opportunities that empower students to reach their full potential. Knowledge of a Positive Behaviour Support whole‐school framework is desired. Strong interpersonal skills are highly regarded as the role involves close collaboration with students, staff and the wider school community. Teachers and School Administrators employed at Karratha Senior High School in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary ARI payment of $4 000 per annum (gross), pro‐rated for FTE and tenure. Eligible staff receive a percentage of this payment upon commencement, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to receive the second payment.
