Job Overview


Mechanical Commissioning Lead

We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Commissioning Lead to spearhead our Building Engineering Services team.

This pivotal role will entail leading mechanical commissioning teams on projects, with a significant focus on project management, client relationship-building, and driving day-to-day business operations.

As a key player in our organization, you will have the opportunity to forge strong relationships with our clients, gaining a deep understanding of their mission, vision, culture, and goals.

* Maintaining and improving our relationship with our clients, managing the scope, and identifying opportunities to provide additional services that benefit our clients.
* Driving consistent communication across the organization to support attainment of net fee booked plans, in coordination with the commissioning practice leaders.
* Assisting and collaborating within the commissioning sector and with other sector and service leaders in defining opportunities and engagement strategies for clients.


Key Responsibilities

* Serving as a key client manager for selected clients.
* Driving the identification and development of new business opportunities in the commissioning market, including strategy for positioning, proposing, and presenting on business development campaigns.
* Undertaking technical assessments of project schedules, drawings, manuals, and technical submittals.
* Developing commissioning implementation plans, schedules, reports, checklists, and test scripts.
* Providing technical advice to clients in respect of project and operational risk.


Preferred Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in Electrical (university or TAFE) highly advantageous. Green Star AP, LEED AP, CSA, or LEED Associate – highly advantageous.

Demonstrated experience in commissioning or facility engineering, preferably working in Data Centre / Health sectors.

Experience with equipment inspections. Experience with Factory Witness Test / Factory Acceptance Tests.

Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident status.

Committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values.


Benefits

The ideal candidate will be an experienced engineer, either a licensed PE or a field technician with excellent understanding of MEP systems, HVAC controls, the T&B process, etc.

Must be willing to travel to site-based locations as reasonably based on HDR needs.

Good computer skills and effective typing skills.

Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project software.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Familiar with the organization of design documents, the preparation of multidiscipline designs, and the delivery of design & construction services.

Strong knowledge of construction practices, systems engineering, operations fundamentals, contracting, and general business operations.

Understanding of project accounting and financial management tools.

Ability to prioritize and organize work; ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently.
