The Pastry Chef de Partie role is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the creation of exquisite desserts and pastries that delight our guests.
As a key member of our Pastry department, you will be responsible for preparing a diverse range of pastries, ensuring each item meets our high standards of quality and presentation. You will work closely with our Head Pastry Chef to craft memorable culinary experiences for our guests.
About the Job
* Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and creative individual with strong technical skills and a keen eye for details to join our Pastry department as a Pastry Chef de Partie.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Prepare and bake a wide range of desserts, pastries for the hotel's outlets.
* Collaborate with the Head Pastry Chef to develop and update dessert menus.
* Ensure all pastries and desserts meet quality standards for taste, texture and presentation.
* Work closely with other departments and kitchens to coordinate service and ensure timely delivery of desserts.
* Monitor and manage inventory levels of pastry ingredients.
* Train and oversee junior pastry staff and interns, providing guidance on techniques and workflow.
Requirements:
* Certificate III in Patisserie (or equivalent)
* Recent experience in a pastry kitchen, preferably in hotels.
* Experience in luxury international brands, highly regarded
* Demonstrated in-depth skills and knowledge of kitchen operations
* Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards
* A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced customer service environment
* Valid work rights in Australia
