This exciting role will support the Branch Operations Manager by controlling, directing and maximising the productivity and effectiveness of the Yarwun branch operations.
About the Role
As Branch Supervisor, you will lead and manage the local driver group and oversee daily operations to ensure safety, compliance, efficiency and asset utilisation targets are achieved. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational knowledge, compliance awareness and the ability to drive performance through people.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the branch driver group and daily operational activities
* Support implementation of operational improvements to increase efficiency and productivity
* Develop and implement branch safety and compliance KPIs
* Monitor fleet movements to ensure safe, cost-effective and reliable freight distribution
* Oversee MYOSH action close-outs and ensure timely resolution of safety items
* Manage and approve timesheets in line with company procedures
* Assist schedulers and maintenance planning teams to optimise asset availability
* Drive local hire usage and maximise utilisation of branch-based assets
* Maximise backloading opportunities to improve efficiency
* Analyse and report on outstanding licences, training compliance and equipment utilisation
* Collaborate with maintenance, schedulers, drivers, compliance and training teams to ensure operational alignment
* Ensure compliance with NHVR requirements, Dangerous Goods Code and Chain of Responsibility legislation
* Maintain branch scanning compliance and support administrative processes including FMS documentation
Qualifications
* 5+ years' experience in a transport or logistics supervisory role (preferred)
* Strong understanding of heavy vehicle operations and fleet management
* Demonstrated knowledge of NHVR regulations, Dangerous Goods compliance and Chain of Responsibility
* Experience leading frontline driver teams
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to report on operational metrics
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
* Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence positive outcomes
* Strong focus on safety, compliance and continuous improvement
