About the Job

Position: Business Development Representative

Location: Australia (ANZ region)

Role Summary

Prospecta is seeking an experienced Business Development Representative to drive new customer acquisition and revenue growth across Australia and the broader ANZ region. This is a high-impact, hunter role focused on prospecting, building pipeline, and closing subscription-based SaaS deals. The Business Development Representative will work closely with customers and strategic ecosystem partners across the region. Success in this role requires urgency, strong deal ownership, and a consistent focus on acquiring net-new logos.

Key responsibilities

* Prospect and identify net-new sales opportunities through outbound activities including cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, and events.
* Qualify inbound and outbound leads to assess fit, interest, and buying intent.
* Generate and develop a strong, consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities for Account Executives.
* Conduct initial discovery conversations to understand customer pain points, business challenges, and priorities.
* Schedule and coordinate qualified meetings and product demonstrations for the sales team.
* Research target accounts, industries, and key stakeholders to support effective outreach.
* Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Alliances teams to execute territory and account-based strategies.
* Maintain accurate and timely records of all activities, leads, and opportunities in CRM.
* Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly activity, pipeline, and opportunity creation targets.
* Continuously refine messaging and outreach strategies based on performance and feedback.

Must have

* 3-5 years of SaaS based Enterprise Software sales experience.
* 2–5 years of experience in a Business Development, Sales Development, or inside sales role within a SaaS or B2B technology environment.
* Proven experience in outbound prospecting and lead qualification.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and build rapport with business stakeholders.
* Comfort engaging with mid-level to senior stakeholders across multiple industries.
* Experience using CRM systems and sales engagement/outreach tools.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple prospects and priorities.
* Resilient, driven, and target-oriented mindset with a strong desire to grow a career in sales.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.

Good to have

* Experience selling into asset-intensive or regulated industries.
* Experience supporting enterprise or mid-market sales teams.
* Exposure to selling SaaS, data management, ERP, or enterprise software solutions.
* Familiarity with account-based marketing (ABM) or territory-based sales models.
* Previous experience working with channel or alliance-led sales motions.
* Strong curiosity and willingness to learn complex products and industries.
