The team has never lost touch with its family business origins and is focused on creating strong personal relationships at every level of the business.About the roleAn exciting and immediate opportunity for an experienced Printer (Press operator) to join our team in Melbourne operating various 6 and 8 colour Heidelberg Presses with Cutstar reel fed units.
The equipment features the latest inbuilt image control for complete colour management.This permanent full-time position will initially commence on Day Shift during onboarding period working 12-hour rosters (3 days per week) and then moving to permanent Night Shift Wednesday to Friday (6pm-6am) working a 36-hour compressed work week.A great opportunity to develop & progress your career with an industry leader and the world's leading In-mould label (IML) manufacturer.Main DutiesEnsure compliance to safety, quality and production standardsInterpret job tickets and requirementsCheck production against determined quality specificationsPerform film and print quality checksCarry out changeovers with minimal downtime and wasteLead and guide printer's assistants to perform tasks on pressTroubleshoot and resolve mechanical or printing issues promptlyWork collaboratively with prepress and finishing departments to ensure seamless productionSupport plant initiatives and directivesCapture required data and feedback informationAbility to use and read basic print and colour measurement devicesBasic computer skills: Microsoft Office, OutlookMust be able to follow detailed instruction for training and quality purposesAble to work in a team environmentPhysically fitGood communicator with excellent organizational skillsMaintain some mechanical and technical understanding of printing pressKnowledge of colour managementA willingness to work flexiblyAn awareness of Health & Safety issuesProgressive printing experienceFull knowledge of print press operationsFull knowledge of press colour controlResponsibilitiesAbility to meet production goals and targetsCapability to deliver required quality standardsTraining of new employeesSupport of plant initiatives and directivesCommunication/direction of support teamQualificationsCompleted a Printing Trade Certificate or equivalent knowledgeExperiencePrevious experience on a Heidelberg Printing Press, with desired exposure to Cutstar units is preferredProficiency in operating & running multi-colour pressesEfficient time management and commitment to deadlinesThe applicant needs to be well versed in all areas of press operation and may need to undergo additional training in the use and handling of plastic substrates.The BenefitsCompetitive remunerationWork-life balance (only working 3 days per week)Free onsite parkingHealth & wellness programLocal & global career opportunities to development & build your brilliant careerTo help employees thrive at home & at work, we offer an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
