About the role
We are looking for skilled Painters to join our team in Kwinana, WA. You'll be responsible for surface preparation and the application of protective coatings to steel structures, pipelines, vessels, tanks, and industrial equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Performing abrasive blasting, power tool cleaning, and chemical surface preparation
* Applying epoxy, polyurethane, zinc primer, and other protective coatings by spray, brush, or roller
* Mixing coatings to manufacturer specs and reading/interpreting SDS, blueprints, and work orders
* Setting up, operating, and maintaining blasting and painting equipment safely
* Ensuring proper masking, containment, and environmental compliance
* Maintaining accurate records of materials used, prep, and application methods
* Conducting touch-up and coating repairs as needed
Skills & Experience
Essential
* High Risk Work Licence — Forklift (LF), EWP, or Rigging Basic (RB), WAH
* Proven experience as a painter and/or blaster in a manufacturing or construction environment
* Familiarity with blasting techniques, equipment, and associated safety procedures
* Certification in abrasive blasting and industrial coatings (or ability to complete a VOC)
* Current Australian driver's licence
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
* Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure
* A hands-on, can-do attitude with a focus on quality outcomes
Desirable
* Breathing apparatus, gas test atmospheres, working at heights, or confined spaces tickets
* Willingness to travel and work across Ahrens project sites when required
