Your role at St John of God Ballarat Hospital
The Pharmacy Technician assists in the provision of pharmacy services to patients, external organisations, and other hospital caregivers by providing technical support to pharmacists.
The Position- Under supervision of a pharmacist, aid with dispensing of medication, manufacture of extemporaneous items, collation of prescriptions and preparation of claim data.- Pharmacy and Ward Inventory Management - ordering drugs from suppliers, preparation and maintenance of imprest lists, and management of the imprest ordering and delivery to wards.- Preparation of drug pre-packs for use in the Emergency Department- Maintenance and daily review of the After Hours Drug System- Support for the Oncology Pharmacists with compilation of orders, receipt and unpacking of deliveries and supply to the ward, dispensing oncology prescriptions.- Pharmacy Reception duties - interactions with Ward staff, Doctors and patients in person and by phone, receipt and unpacking of goods inwards.
Successful applicants will hold a Certificate 3 Hospital Community Pharmacy Assistant or equivalent, excellent computer and data entry skills and a strong attention to detail.
