- About the role
- To provide efficient clerical and administration support to the Corps with the purpose of enhancing the services to the community and supporting the mission of The Salvation Army Batemans Bay to be achieved.
- This is a fully site-based role provides also provides an initial point of contact, warm welcome, and excellent customer service for those attending the site.
- Reporting to the Corps Officer, this is a permanent, part-time position based in Batemans Bay, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Clerks Private Sector, L3
- You will successfully
- Manage all general administration, and clerical activities within Corps including filing (electronic and hard copy), minute taking, mail, data entry, general correspondence, SAMIS data entry and documentation, and other generalist administration activities
- Assist Corps Officer in planning and coordination of events e.g. ALT Meetings, Red Shield Appeal, Christmas, community events
- Undertake administration activities relating to Corps activities (e.g. flyers, rosters, advertising)
- Assist Corps Officer with the maintaining employee & volunteer records
- Manage hiring of Corps facilities
- Conduct WHS monthly inspections (or as required) of TSA properties and coordinate general cleaning and maintenance of property where necessary.
- Complete reports for incidents and near misses, following policies and procedures to address WHS risks and hazards (per TSA guidelines)
- Paying expenses related to the operations of the Corps
- Reconcile and prepare paperwork re. donations from collections
- Liaise with Finance Business Partner
- Attending staff meetings, leadership team meetings and training as required
- Work alongside of staff and volunteers to provide support and enhance missional outcomes
- You will have
- Certificate IV in Business Administration or relevant experience
- At least 2 years administration experience working with some level of autonomy
- Previous experience with financial clerical tasks/basic accounting
- A national police record check is required
- NSW Working With Children Check is required
- Compulsory Code of Conduct, WHS and Bullying and Harassment training modules are completed and up to date
- Ability to work on site
- Experience within a community or NFP setting well regarded
- Self-motivated, high level of initiative and strong work ethic
- Sound presentation and communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interreact positively with a variety of people
- Ability to prioritise tasks and mange time effectively with good attention to detail
- Team player, flexible, with a positive attitude
- Customer service focussed
- Solid level of computer literacy in Microsoft 365, databases, record management, and exposure to digital accounting systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience working with different cultures
