Mandatory/key requirements: Driver's license, Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (or equivalent). Minimum 6 years' experience in senior engineering or infrastructure project management roles
About the role:
As Head of Program Management, you will be responsible for the planning, scheduling and delivery of LMW's Capital Works Program. The role provides strong leadership across financial, contract and program management to ensure robust governance, effective risk management and continuous improvement.
You will oversee the delivery of major works using established project and contractor management practices, maintaining effective control of time, cost, quality and resources.
The role provides engineering and technical leadership across the capital works portfolio, drawing on your expertise and the capability of the Projects team to ensure designs and constructed assets meet required standards and best-practice outcomes.
As a people leader, you will lead and develop a team of Program Mangers, Engineers, Project Engineers and Officers, fostering a high performing and supportive environment through clear direction, coaching and mentoring. You will build both technical and professional capability within the team, supporting the successful delivery of complex programs while enabling individual development and career progression.
Key responsibilities:
* Overseeing a portfolio of capital projects, monitoring performance against time, cost, quality and risk targets.
* Preparing and managing program budgets, forecasts and progress reporting in line with corporate and water plans.
* Preparing and overseeing complex project and contract documentation in accordance with LMW and DTF policies.
* Provide engineering leadership across disciplines to ensure integrated, high-quality project delivery, while offering advice, and developing organisational capability through mentoring and knowledge transfer.
* Embedding proactive risk management practices across project planning and delivery, ensuring risks are identified, assessed and managed within organisational tolerance.
* Identifying and implementing improvements, innovation and change initiatives to enhance project delivery practices, engineering standards.
* Lead, coach, and mentor a team of technical staff.
About You
We require self-motivated and experienced people leader who has an eye for detail, focus on continual improvement and is safety conscious and looking to work in a fast-paced team environment. To be successful in this role, you would ideally have some of the following:
* Engineer with experience in project delivery / program management.
* An analytical thinker with experience in delivering innovative technical solutions and an eye for detail.
* Good communication skills and an ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
* Experienced people leader who can mentor and develop technical staff.
* Understanding of how you work in a safe and effective manner.
