The Property Maintenance Team is part of Delivery – Places and Spaces and ensures properties managed by the Division and maintained on behalf of Directorates are inspected, maintained and repaired by qualified and experienced staff and external contractors. The Team ensures that goods and services are procured meeting ACT Government procurement policies, and that work performed is up to required legislative standards. This role leads a team responsible for providing planned maintenance across ACT Government owned buildings and properties. It is a dynamic job where no day is ever the same. The role is both a manager and a leader of the team providing professional guidance and direction, programming work responsibilities, liaising and problem solving with clients, ensuring HR matters are addressed and setting the strategic agenda with the team. The Property Services and Operations Branch is responsible for delivering both reactive and planned facilities maintenance services on behalf of the ACT Government. Our clients are ACT Government business units, not for profit and commercial service providers and the wider ACT community. To deliver these services we maintain a qualified trades workforce as well as procurement and contract specialists with technical expertise to deliver facilities and property management across the ACT Government's diverse place and space portfolio. The branch also provides the main intake service for the organisation managing customer enquiries as well as allocation and management of tasks, repairs and maintenance requests requiring action. The branch supports the development of people into the industry through sponsoring apprentices. Eligibility / Other Requirements
* Hold a Workplace Health and Safety Induction (White Card) or a willingness to obtain; General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
* Hold an Asbestos awareness card or a willingness to obtain - Asbestos Awareness Training and evidence of completion delivered by a Registered Training Organisation is required prior to commencement, for further information refer to: Asbestos Awareness Training - WorkSafe ACT
* Hold or have the capacity to obtain Work Health and Safety qualifications (Certificate IV).
* Hold a current driver's licence (car).
Membership of a relevant professional association and qualification/s in Procurement, Contract Management or Work Health and Safety are highly desirable.
Notes
Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. This position is based in an activity-based working (ABW) environment. Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
