Happy Haus is seeking an Architect / Graduate Architect / Building Designer to play a pivotal role in shaping our residential design + build projects.
This is a design‑focused position for a senior designer who thrives at the intersection of strong architectural thinking, planning strategy, and technical delivery.
Reporting to the Happy Haus Architect, you will lead projects through concept design, planning approval, and design development, taking ownership of form, spatial organisation, and built‑form outcomes, while remaining actively involved in the documentation and technical resolution of your designs.

The successful candidate will also enjoy design leadership with a desire to influence project outcomes from the earliest feasibility stages through to documentation.
About the role:
Lead concept design, planning responses, and form development on residential projects
Translate planning controls into clear, commercially viable design outcomes
Produce accurate and comprehensible documents that will include, as required, drawings, models, specifications, schedules and other relevant modes of information
Act as a design authority on assigned projects under the direction of the Lead Architect
Contribute to interiors design development and construction documentation
Collaborate closely with planners, consultants, and construction teams
Present design ideas confidently to internal and external stakeholders
About you:
A well‑developed understanding of residential design
Experience delivering projects through concept, planning, and documentation
Comfortable balancing architectural intent with planning requirements, buildability and cost management
Passionate about good design and collaborative project delivery
Desired Skills:
A relevant qualification in design
High levels of experience in working in REVIT
Minimum 5 years' experience in residential design and documentation in an Australia business
Experience in leading a design process across all phases of the design process
Excellent understanding of relevant Australian construction codes and legislation
High levels of competence in producing CAD drawings (Revit)
A keen eye for detail and accuracy
High levels of personal time management to ensure everything runs on time, every time
Previous work within a Quality Assurance framework.
