Job Duties/Essential Functions
Scales and combines ingredients using power equipment to prepare various types of baked goods. Rolls, cuts, and shapes
products
Uses various kitchen instruments when preparing various scratch and frozen items. Dates ingredients, products, and stores
for future use
Uses and monitors proof-box, setting of temperature, humidity, and timers
Uses and monitors gas fired rack ovens, setting temperature, and timers. Removes rack of baked product from oven for
cooling. Follows production sheets for Order of Production
Follows Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines as it refers to proper cleaning and sanitation of all
equipment required by this position. Completes and complies with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety
Certification, and all safety training required by warehouse and Bakery Department
Assists with other Bakery duties as needed. Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers
Assists in teaching apprentices and trade assistants as per SOP, including other areas of the Bakery such as wrapping or
cake decorating.
Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery
Calculator, scales, water meter, oven racks, proof box, ovens, large power mixers, muffin depositor, food processor, pie
crust machine, bowl lift, safety ladder, pan dollies, apricot glazer, wheeled product bins, commercial dishwasher, wrapping
machine, cake slicing machine, product pump, and labeler.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Bakery or comparable experience necessary
Basic math skills
*Must have a Bakers Trade Certificate
