Cubic Defence Australia is seeking an experienced and dynamic
Exercise Design Specialist
to join our integrated Cubic–ADF team supporting the Combat Training Centre (CTC). This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the development and delivery of complex, high-quality collective training activities that enhance the capability and preparedness of the Australian Army.
Australian citizenship is required for this position.
As an Exercise Design Specialist, you will take a lead role in the design, development and execution of Higher Command (HICON) training, ensuring the delivery of detailed, realistic and operationally relevant products to training units. You will work closely with CTC staff in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your expertise will shape future training outcomes across all domains.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support the planning, management and execution of major military exercises in close coordination with CTC uniformed staff.
Participate in exercise development conferences and produce high-quality design products that support exercise intent and outcomes.
Deliver exercise briefings and planning activities to ADF and Cubic personnel.
Support the establishment and execution of collective training, including regular field activities in a HICON role.
Manage key staff within the HICON team, ensuring training delivery aligns with ADF leadership intent.
Adhere to Cubic's Quality Management System and all safety, HR, environmental and security policies.
Perform additional duties as directed.
Hold or be eligible to obtain NV1 security clearance.
Skills, Experience & Knowledge
Minimum
15 years of military experience
, with attainment of
MAJ–LTCOL
rank or equivalent.
Australian Army experience is specifically required for this role.
Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering large-scale military training activities.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Strong commitment to customer service and stakeholder engagement.
Excellent organisational, time management and project management abilities.
