Overview
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering optimised and scalable SQL solutions, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to provide technical leadership within a dynamic, Agile environment. You will be responsible for the quality, performance, and functionality of SQL-based solutions that support critical business operations and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust SQL solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications.
- Work closely with the data modelling team to support operational and analytical database needs.
- Implement performance tuning strategies and scalable database architectures for large-scale datasets.
- Develop and manage ETL pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Oversee deployments through Microsoft DevOps and manage CI/CD pipelines.
- Conduct code reviews, maintain source control using Git, and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Maintain high standards of data quality, integrity, and security.
- Contribute to Agile delivery by participating in sprint planning, reviews, and continuous feedback cycles.
Required Experience & Skills
- 7+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Developer.
- Advanced proficiency with SQL Server, Oracle, SSIS, SSM, Microsoft DevOps, CI/CD tools, Git.
- In-depth understanding of Database architecture and data warehousing, indexing, query optimisation, and performance tuning
- Experience working with large and complex datasets.
- Skilled in data modelling concepts and collaborating with data architecture teams.
- Strong ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
- Knowledge of SDLC, change management, and deployment best practices.
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to data analytics or data science initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with exploratory data analysis and data insights generation.
- Previous collaboration within cross-functional teams including business analysts and data modellers.
