Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health service, which provides culturally appropriate, family centered, primary health care services to the communities and people of Cape York.
About the role
The purpose of the Executive Administration Officer – Wellbeing and Community Services position is to provide high level executive, secretariat and project support services to the Executive Manager, Wellbeing and Community Services and Managers as required. The position also supports a team of administrators to streamline the administrative practices, systems, coordination and procedures within the department.
The filling of this position is intended to constitute a special/equal opportunity measure under s8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth) and s105 of the Antidiscrimination Act 1991 (Qld). The position is therefore only open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants.
About You
* Experience developing high level formal documentation, communications and correspondence, such as briefings, reports and submissions.
* Experience in a senior administrative or other role with similar responsibilities.
* Proficient in the use of Office 365 and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Exceptional written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
* High level stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
* Understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and their communities, particularly in Cape York.
* Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and customs.
* Must be willing and have the ability to travel in Cape York either by light aircraft or 4WD as required.
Mandatory Requirements
* Cert IV in Business or other field relevant to the role, or combination of equivalent experience and qualification.
* Current Queensland Driver's Licence.
* Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption, or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement.
* Current AFP National Police Clearance or willing to obtain prior to commencement.
