Ready to Swap the Tools for Teaching (Without Losing the Tech)?
Our client, a leading Victorian TAFE is expanding its Defence delivery team and is on the hunt for an Electrical Fitter–turned-Teacher to deliver hands-on, workshop-based training as part of a long-term Defence contract.
This isn't classroom theory or domestic call-outs. This is real trade skills, real systems, and real impact — helping build the next generation of Defence-ready technicians.

The Role (What You'll Actually Be Teaching)
You'll deliver applied, practical training that mirrors real-world electrical work, including:

* Working with AC/DC circuits, transformers and rotating machines
* Electrical control circuits and introductory PLC concepts
* Isolation, testing and troubleshooting of LV circuits
* Compliance testing and functional verification of equipment
You'll plan and run engaging sessions, adapt delivery for different learners, keep everything compliant, and play a role in improving and evolving the program as it grows.

About You (Who We're Keen to Hear From)
You might be:
* An Electrical Fitter experienced with machinery, plant equipment, control panels and industrial systems
or
* A General Electrician keen to focus on electrical fitting, fault-finding and systems work
Either way, if you enjoy explaining how things work and don't mind repeating yourself until it clicks — you'll do well here.
You'll bring:
* Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent
* Certificate III, IV or Diploma in a relevant electrical discipline
* PLC exposure or control systems experience (a bonus, not a deal-breaker)
* Current vocational competency and industry currency
