The Role
Muswellbrook Hospital is a key regional facility in the Upper Hunter providing high-quality healthcare to our community. We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Hospital Assistant Grade 3 to join our Facilities and Maintenance team.
In this role, you will support the Engineering Department by assisting with routine and statutory maintenance, undertaking manual handling tasks such as moving furniture and equipment, maintaining gardens and grounds, and helping ensure buildings, plant, and equipment remain safe and operational. You will also support trades staff, respond flexibly to urgent maintenance needs, and contribute to a safe, clean, and functional environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

You will be supported by an experienced manager and maintenance team who will provide a comprehensive site orientation, safety induction, and training on hospital systems and equipment. About You
You're practical, reliable, and enjoy hands-on work, while being comfortable working both independently and as part of a supportive team. Ideally, you will bring:
A willingness to learn basic gardening and handyman skills
A helpful and proactive attitude with flexibility to assist in the workshop
Ability to work independently while following direction
Commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment
Previous gardening or handyman experience is valued, but not essential – training will be provided.

This position is full time; however, part time/job share arrangements may also be considered.
