A well-established and rapidly growing trade services business is seeking an experienced
Operations Manager
to lead and scale its
Electrical & Air Conditioning division
.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role suited to a trade-qualified professional who enjoys balancing
people leadership, customer engagement, and commercial performance
. The division has experienced strong growth and now requires a capable operator to take full ownership of day-to-day operations and future expansion.
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will lead a team of electricians and HVAC technicians, supported by an internal office coordinator. You will be accountable for service delivery, team performance, customer relationships, and the commercial success of the division.
This role combines operational leadership with sales engagement and strategic growth, offering genuine autonomy and long-term career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage daily operations across electrical and air conditioning services
• Coach, mentor, and develop a team of 10+ tradespeople
• Engage directly with customers including quoting, site visits, and issue resolution
• Drive revenue, margins, and divisional performance targets
• Oversee scheduling, quality, safety, and service standards
• Collaborate with peer operations leaders across other trade divisions
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of top trade talent
• Contribute to growth initiatives including acquisitions and integration of new services
• Run regular toolbox talks, training sessions, and performance meetings
About You:
• Trade-qualified A-Class Electrician with a Supervisor's Licence
• HVAC experience highly regarded
• Proven leadership or operations experience within trade services or a technical environment
• Strong customer-facing and sales capability with confidence in quoting and pricing
• Commercially minded with a clear understanding of margins and performance
• Organised, proactive, and comfortable leading from the front
• High level of computer literacy and familiarity with service or operational systems
