About the Program: CareSouth is looking for passionate support workers to join our fantastic Orange and Blayney teams. You will work as part of our new Intensive Therapeutic Care - Significant Disability (ITC-SD) team. In our ITC-SD program you will work with children and young people who are unable to be supported in family-based care and require additional tailored supports due to disabilities, behavioural issues and/or complex mental health needs. Your aim will be to support children with significant disabilities grow, connect, and thrive in ways that are meaningful to them.

CareSouth is dedicated to providing emotional, physical and relational safety for our staff and young people. Comprehensive training in our therapeutic model of care Safety, Healing, Connection is provided to all staff.

Your Role: You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering compassionate, person-centred supports to clients.

You will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

- Providing high-quality person-centred supports to promote the individual goals of clients
- Working as part of a broader multi-disciplinary team to provide tailored care
- Providing support with daily living according to the needs of clients
- Implementing structured approaches to assisting children and young people who have a disability
- Working therapeutically with young people to maintain a safe, positive and therapeutic environment.

What you need to be successful in your role:

- A Diploma in Community Services or other relevant Diploma
- Experience and understanding of trauma-informed practice and therapeutic care
- Previous experience working with people with disability and/or children and young people
- Resilience, patience and at times a sense of humour all rolled into one
- Genuine desire and commitment to be the difference in young people’s lives
- Willingness to work flexible hours which include shift-work, weekends and sleepovers
- Unrestricted drivers license
- Current First Aid Certificate
