SEA Global (SEA) are seeking a Project Engineer (Pipeline Fabrication & Installation) to join our team in October 2025, working from either our head office in Perth or working from Victoria, with travel to site as required. This role reports to the Lead Engineer (Shore Crossing & Pipeline Installation) and supports the execution of the Golden Beach Energy Storage Project. This role will be responsible for offshore linepipe and coating procurement, pipeline string fabrication at the onshore stringing site in Victoria, and technical/onshore support to the pipeline pull-out and installation operations.

The role involves time at the fabrication site in Victoria and attendance at offshore operations during installation and is full-time casual PAYG, with the option to transfer to permanent after 1 year.

About SEA

Our clients include multi-national to mid-size energy companies internationally and here in Australia, encompassing both traditional energy and renewable energy infrastructure.

With offices in Perth, Australia and Gdansk, Poland, our work covers a broad range of technical disciplines, including mechanical, process, electrical, geotechnical, hydrodynamic and reliability engineering.

SEA is committed to delivering confident solutions to our clients, with a strong focus on understanding their business and technical needs. We seek solutions that are innovative and bold, holistic and sustainable, without ever compromising the integrity of our work.

About the Client & Project

GB Energy is developing the Golden Beach Energy Storage Project, which is strategically located in Gippsland, Victoria, adjacent to the Longford Gas Hub. The Project will initially produce natural gas from the Golden Beach field in Bass Strait, before transitioning to an underground offshore gas storage facility.

The offshore storage facility will enable new gas to be injected at times of low gas demand (often in summer) and withdrawn again at times of higher demand (usually winter).

Having significant reserves of gas in storage and readily available on peak energy demand days, will help balance the market at times when the wind doesn’t blow and the sun doesn’t shine. The Project is targeting first gas supply in 2028, before transitioning to a flexible storage facility in 2029.
