About the Role

MRBTA's Visitor Services Consultants are regional experts who are responsible for welcoming visitors and sharing their passion for the region.
The day-to-day responsibilities of this role focus on providing travel advice to help ensure visitors get the most out of their stay in the region. This includes sharing travel tips and recommendations, assisting with bookings, itinerary planning and selling visitor centre retail items.
We are looking for casual staff to work at BOTH the Busselton and Margaret River Visitor Centres on an ongoing basis, particularly over the busy periods including weekends, public holidays and school holidays.
As a member of the Visitor Services team, you will:
Give a warm welcome to customers coming into the Visitor Centre
Provide exceptional customer service, making suggestions for things to see and do in the region and helping with itinerary planning
Process bookings and sales using booking platforms and POS systems
Take pride in the presentation of the Visitor Centre
Support and demonstrate MRBTA's values and professional standards
Work with an inspiring and fun team who are highly passionate about the Margaret River Region
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you must possess:
Local knowledge and passion for the Margaret River Region (from Busselton to Augusta)
Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to tailor information to suit different audiences, cultures and information platforms
Excellent computer skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
The ability to work as part of a team
Previous customer service/retail/tourism industry knowledge is desirable but not essential
The successful applicant will
Enjoy paid training opportunities and industry benefits
Be available at (sometimes) short notice, able to cover anywhere from 4 hour to 7.5 hour shifts and willing to work public and school holidays
Have a 'C' class license and be willing to work between the Busselton and Margaret River Visitor Centres as operational requirements arise
Possess a keen sense of exploration and desire to grow knowledge of the region
