Your new company 
Our client provides essential building and construction services across North Queensland. They are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join their dynamic team on a contract basis, with the potential for extension. 
Your new role 
As a key member of the project delivery team, you'll lead and coordinate building projects from concept to completion, ensuring quality outcomes across government-owned assets. Your responsibilities will include: 
Managing all phases of building projects including pre-design, design, documentation, contract administration, and post-construction activitiesCoordinating internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to meet project objectivesLeading negotiations with consultants, authorities, and contractors to deliver value-for-money solutionsProviding expert contract coordination across traditional and non-traditional systemsEnsuring projects meet scope, time, cost, cash-flow, and quality benchmarksOverseeing stakeholder engagement and communication throughout the project lifecycleGenerating exception reports and conducting project audits to monitor performanceSupporting senior leadership in fee determination and client billing approvals 
What you'll need to succeed 
You bring a strong background in project management within the building and construction sector, with a proven ability to lead complex projects and manage diverse teams. 
Your qualifications and experience include: 
Previous experience in project coordination, contract administration, or construction managementHigh-level proficiency in MS Project and Microsoft Office SuiteTertiary qualifications in Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, Town Planning, or Quantity Surveying (highly desirable)Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skillsAbility to interpret technical documentation and manage compliance requirementsExcellent organisational and reporting capabilities 
What you'll get in return 
In return, you will have an immediately available, up to 40hr per week, contract role, Monday - Friday within the public sector based in Townsville, paying an attractive hourly rate of $78.02 + Super - you will work in a well-established, friendly, and fast-paced team and your contribution will be valued in the ongoing success of this busy department.
