Senior Accountant
Brief details about the position:
· Permanent full time position
· 38 hours per week
· $95000 per year + superannuation

Ajaka & Co is an independent and Australian-owned CPA accounting and tax agent firm. Our main office is located at 1/206 Maroubra Road, Maroubra NSW 2035 and our branch office is located at 2/207 Edward Street, Wagga Wagga NSW 2650. At Ajaka & Co, we provide services relating to Taxation, Financial Planning, Accounting and taxation consulting to our clients. Your duties and responsibilities as a senior accountant
· Establish, configure, and maintain accounting systems (e.g., MYOB, Xero) for clients, including providing ongoing support, system improvements, and strategic advice to enhance efficiency.
· Deliver taxation services for a range of entities, including compliance, reporting, and advisory functions.
· Provide technical accounting advice to clients on the preparation and presentation of financial statements, including application of appropriate accounting policies, classification of assets and liabilities, and categorization of revenues and expenses.
· Prepare and review statutory financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
· Utilize Xero to manage bank transaction data, ensuring accurate reconciliation and preparation of taxation and management reports.
· Advise on and administer salary sacrifice (salary packaging) arrangements to optimize client outcomes in line with taxation legislation.
· Analyze client cash flows for both statutory reporting and investment purposes, applying financial modelling and evaluation techniques such as Net Present Value (NPV) analysis.
· Review and assess clients' internal management accounting systems and controls, providing recommendations for process improvement and enhanced financial reporting.
· Design and implement new management accounting frameworks for clients to support informed decision-making and strengthen business performance.
Skills and Required Experience
You must have:
· At least Bachelor of accounting or similar (CA or CPA qualified)
· Minimum 3-5 years' experience in accounting and finance industry
· Solid knowledge of accounting procedures
· Excellent communication skills to work with clients
· Experience in accounting software (Xero, Myob, Quickbooks)
· Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
