HSEQ Advisor: Risk Management and Safety Expert
We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Advisor to join our team.
Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, you will play a key part in shaping a culture where HSEQ comes first – every time. You will actively support our branches and teams as a trusted business partner, with a strong people-focused approach, to effectively manage risk and continually improve how we work.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys being out in the field, building relationships, and making real change.
You could be based in either Clayton, Laverton or Burnie, with some travel in this role across Victoria and Tasmania.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide high-level HSEQ specialist advice and support across the business, actively partnering with key stakeholders to deliver improved business performance.
* Influence, lead, and support operational areas to ongoing enhancement of HSEQ culture and behaviors.
* Deliver ongoing continuous improvement in HSEQ culture and systems, in line with business-wide HSEQ strategies and projects.
* High level of support and guidance provided to business areas in the investigation of incidents.
* Facilitate and lead risk register activities within business areas, complete risk assessments as required, and support and coach all stakeholders to actively manage, monitor, and reduce HSEQ risks.
* Complete assurance activities, induction, training, and other HSEQ activities as required, including HSEQ incident analysis and reporting.
* Support projects related to maintaining ISO 45001 and ISO 9001 certification.
* Travel between sites in VIC and TAS to engage with teams on the ground.
About You:
You are a true safety professional with a high-risk background who has experience working in a blue-collar environment. You will bring a thorough knowledge of risk and incident management practices, a people-centric approach, and your effective collaboration skills to provide practical and impactful solutions to achieve safe and effective outcomes.
You will ideally bring the following skills, experience, and attributes to the role:
* Tertiary qualifications in HSEQ or a related discipline.
* 3+ years' experience in a HSEQ role in a similar industry and risk profile.
* Demonstrated experience in delivering practical, effective, and risk-based HSEQ solutions in an operational environment.
* A great team player able to work collaboratively and with business stakeholders in building support and ownership of HSE initiatives and practices.
* Highly motivated with a positive attitude and strong team focus.
* High level of investigation skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
