We are seeking a talented and ambitious graduate to join our Commodity Markets Journalism Training Program. This exciting opportunity is perfect for individuals with a strong work ethic, analytical mind, and passion for global business and economics.
This six-month program will provide you with intensive training in commodity markets journalism, market analysis, news writing, and market reporting. You will have the chance to develop your skills in building, curating, and interpreting data sets that help explain market dynamics.
About the Role
* Monitor and assess markets to produce news, analysis, price assessments, and market commentaries.
* Analyse data to create insights into global commodity trade.
* Speak to producers, buyers, traders, and other key market sources to share market intelligence.
* Travel locally and abroad to attend meetings, conferences, and industry events to build contacts, report on news, and represent our organization.
In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in reporting and writing breaking news, as well as analysing markets for market commentaries.
Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for candidates with:
* An undergraduate degree of at least Credit level in any discipline.
* Fluency in English - other languages are an advantage.
* Strong research and analytical skills.
* Demonstrable interest in global business, politics, and economics.
* Ability to learn quickly and work to tight deadlines.
* Inquisitive by nature, self-motivated, and organised.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel an advantage.
* Works well in a team.

Working Hours
Monday through Friday, 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. Earlier or later hours, or weekend hours, may be expected on occasion.
